A little over a year ago I re-watched the Star Wars films and something changed within me, a passion that had not been realised burst forth and now here you are on my very own Star Wars website!
How the heck did I get here?
As stated above, I watched the films again at the back end of 2014 and finally saw them for what they were; wonderful and fun films. I laughed, I cried and whooped for joy with Han as the Millennium Falcon zoomed into hyperspace. I needed more and found out about the refreshed canon - immediately I knew I became a fan at the right time as the whole galaxy was wide open to me. I read the books and the comics whilst consuming the TV Series and wanted to share my experiences with fellow fans. I made a twitter handle and started a blog - The Canon Rebel was born.
My first website will always be infinitely special to me, the design may have been very basic but it was my first output. Little did I know how important that would be. I wrote not just about Star Wars but about my battles with depression, my yearning for some fans to have more respect and an open confession of being a very new fanboy who had never read a Legends book. I have brought all of these posts along for the ride with me.
Personally, The Canon Rebel was a wonderful place for me to start, the perfect outlet. Now I want to concentrate on providing a website where people can explore their passion, see what is coming up, read the latest reviews and discuss and argue over some of my thoughts - hopefully together we can decrypt the Star Wars Canon.
